Paul Augustus Stuhlreyer, Jr.
December 28, 1924 - July 10, 2010
SAVANNAH - Paul A. Stuhlreyer, Jr, 85, died July 10th in Savannah, Georgia. Paul was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Walnut Hills High School. After serving in the Army's Air Force in World War II he attended Miami University where he was a member of Sigma Chi. He joined the Diem and Wing Paper Company and spent his entire career there serving as President and CEO. While at Diem and Wing he served on the Strathmore Paper Company Advisory Board, Miami University Business School Advisory Board, and the Board of Trustees of The Cincinnati Country Club. He was a member of Gyro, The Commercial Club, and The Queen City Club.
Upon retirement he and his wife of 33 years, Eileen, moved to The Landings on Skidaway Island off Savannah, Georgia. Active in Kiwanis, he enjoyed the many pleasures of Island life such as golf, fishing, boating, and skeet shooting.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen, his son Paul "Gus" Stuhlreyer, III and his wife Janet of Norfolk VA, and children Hillary Mikeska, Erica Stuhlreyer, and Ryan Stuhlreyer. His daughter Sarah "Sally" Stuhlreyer Leyman and her husband Ray, and children Sarah and Baker Leyman of Cincinnati, OH. Also surviving are Eileen's children, Eric J. Miller, Kathleen E. Beinfield, and Carolyn Gail Bednarz, thirteen step-grandchildren, and his devoted bird dog, Lue.
A Memorial Service will be held in Savannah at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. An additional service and burial will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 28, 2010.
